Which are the inequality issues affecting education? What are the effects of these issues on individuals and their school trajectories? How can these be mitigated? These are the questions addressed in the 2nd research strand.
The members of strand 2 are interested in inequality and discrimination in education. This exploration includes the study of actions aimed at managing, reducing, or preventing these inequalities and discriminations, and which translate into professional practices, systems, or programs. This strand also studies the situations and trajectories of individuals, the impact of orientation and selection processes during schooling and the various social contexts in which these take place.
The members of strand 2 aim to uncover the complexity of these processes by combining various approaches: an intersectional approach on the one hand, which examines the intertwining of social relations, and an international comparative approach on the other hand, which operates a decentration and allows a better identification of what is socially constructed.
