This research project investigates the school involvement of foreign families.
Brief research overview
This project concentrates on the school involvement of foreign families in order to develop targeted actions to promote their integration within schools and to help them in their educative actions.
This action research, carried out in 3 distinct countries (Spain, Italy, and Luxembourg), is aimed at supporting the integration of families recently arrived in the country within the schools attended by their child and to encourage their involvement in the education of the latter.
To that end, we have worked on the identification of effective strategies likely to help improve the family-school-community relationship and parental involvement in their child’s education.
Main objectives
The objectives of this research are twofold:
- To highlight the social, political, and educational discourses on migration and on the partnership with families and their involvement in the education of their child in the three countries participating in the study;
- To implement, rethink and evaluate innovative actions in order to reach the objectives outlined in the study.
