“What I find most exciting about my job is its human side, listening to others in order to better understand their way of thinking, in order to be able to offer solutions that are better suited to the context.”
After studying Pedagogy and Social Psychology, Omara Sansegundo Moreno worked as a scientific collaborator for the Disability and Community Health Service from 2013 to 2015 at the University of Murcia in Spain. In addition, at the same time, she worked as a specialised pedagogist, participating in the modification of programs for students with special educational needs and / or behavioural disorders. Since 2018, she has been a doctoral assistant at the HEP (Vaud), a member of the Institute of Gender Studies at the University of Geneva, and of the Migration and Society Research Unit at the University of Nice.
Her research work mainly focuses on inequality and discrimination (cyberhate, racism, xenophobia), gender and digital socialization, as well as on school dropout processes in the North and South.
Currently, she is working on a thesis in cotutelle between the University of Geneva (Institute of Gender Studies) and the Université Côte d´Azur in Nice – under the supervision of Catherine Blaya (Université Côte d'Azur, Nice) and Delphine Gardey (University of Geneva). Her thesis focuses on the involvement of girls and boys in cyberhate on digital platforms against ethnic minorities or specific religions.
