Jordi Garreta Bochaca holds a bachelor’s degree and a doctorate in sociology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since 1992 he has been a lecturer and researcher in the sociology of education and the sociology of migration at the University of Lleida (Spain), where he currently holds the position of university professor. He has been a visiting researcher in Canada (Centre d’Études Ethniques des Universités Montréalaises), France (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, CADIS, and the Centre de Recherches Tsiganes des Universités René Descartes-La Sorbonne), Bosnia-Herzegovina and in Chile (Universidad de Bío Bío and Universidad Finis Terrae).
