Purpose: to support both initial and continuing education for teacher trainers in Switzerland. Projects which meet scientific criteria and which are relevant to practice will be considered.
Project example:
- Supporting teacher training in Switzerland.
Binding Foundation
Purpose: to support projects that tackle youth unemployment, educational projects, promotion of the acquisition of a Swiss national language by migrants and projects which contribute to the integration of children and young people.
Project examples:
- Annual summer academy (supports the exchange of knowledge between university).
- Project LIFT (integration of young people into the world of work).
Dora Foundation
Purpose: To support children or adolescents with “special needs”. By “special need” is understood any situation where young people are confronted with physical or mental health problems, learning disabilities, or family difficulties. The foundation primarily supports new programs of an innovative nature (approach, research, creation).
Project example:
- Contribution to the financing of As’trame, which has developed an innovative approach based on two pillars: support for children and families, and training for professionals.
Education 21
Purpose: to support projects of institutions that are active in the field of education in order to improve knowledge about sustainable development.
Project examples:
- Nous avons le droit d’avoir des sentiments [We have the right to have feelings]
- Pour une école où adultes et enfants viennent avec plaisir [For a school where adults and children enjoy coming]
Federa Bureau of the Equality of People with Disabilities
Purpose: To improve equality for people with disabilities in areas such as education, professional activity, housing, mobility, culture and sport.
Project examples:
- Promoting augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) among young adults through linguistics and occupational therapy
- A programme to incentivise physical activity for school-age children
Mercator Foundation
Purpose: to support projects in four areas (education, understanding, participation and environment). Projects must be innovative.
Teamco Foundation
Purpose: to support projects for the benefit of children, adolescents and the elderly.
Project example:
- Integration of young people into society (education).
- Alcohol and Drug Problems in Young People – Prevention.
UBS Foundation for Social Issues and Education
Objectives: to support sustainable charitable projects that demonstrate an entrepreneurial, creative and innovative approach to solving social problems. Funding is focused on the education, qualification and professional integration of disadvantaged people or people with special needs. Among other things, the foundation funds programs for disadvantaged students or those with special needs.
No research projects will be considered

Purpose: to support new approaches in education, vocational training and entrepreneurship.
Gebert-Rüf Foundation
Purpose: to support innovative projects of great relevance and scientific quality, as demonstrated by the following basic criteria: originality, efficiency, transfer potential and interdisciplinarity.
Hirschmann Foundation
Purpose: to promote projects related to education and vocational training, research and science and cooperation.
Project example:
- Knowledge transfer from research to practice for schools.
Kohler-Friedrich Foundation
Purpose: To support children (up to 14 years of age) and young people (up to 21 years of age) in the fields of education and health.
Project example:
- A new wood-fired bakery for young people in difficulty.
Ria et Arthur Dietschweiler Foundation
Purpose: to support projects in the fields of education, culture and social issues. The foundation pays particular attention to projects in favour of children, adolescents as well as gifted young adults.
Project example:
- Renovation of St Gall’s library.
Walidad Foundation
Purpose: to support projects in the field of education and culture. This Foundation favours projects that emphasize initiative and personal responsibility.

Hans Eggenberger Foundation
Purpose: to support specific and individual projects in areas that are designed to have a broad and lasting impact. Supported areas: education and care, health service and nursing, arts, culture, education, and science.
Palatin Foundation
Purpose: To commit to the future prospects of children, adolescents and young adults in the following three areas; education, training and medical research
Project example:
- The project “Enfants placés – prochaine génération” [“Children in care – the next generation”] is the first national study to analyse the situation of children in care in a comprehensive manner.
Paul Schiller Foundation
Purpose: To support projects that help meet basic needs, maintain integrity and enhance educational opportunities for children and young people. The foundation is committed to an inclusive society that strengthens the participation and equal opportunities of all population groups – children, young people and the elderly – of all ethnicities and religious communities.
