“Where there is a will, there is a way.” Albert Einstein
“Our society’s outlook on difference, and in particular on those who require help, still needs to evolve. Throughout my involvement in many professional and associative projects, I have always sought to give a direct voice to the people who are affected in order for them find their own place and not the place that we deem to assign to them. Their place is essential for the harmonious development of our society. I consider these people to be an added value to existence “.
After a university cursus where Cédric Blanc obtained a federal master’s degree in physical education followed by Master of Arts in Sports Sciences and Physical Education, he began his teaching career in various public and special needs teaching schools in the canton Vaud. Additionally, he has taught various subjects, mainly German, geography and physical education. As a lecturer at various universities and colleges in French-speaking Switzerland, Cédric Blanc has provided higher education in the field of physical activities adapted to populations with special needs. He has created and held the post of coordinator in physical education and sports within the training department of a cantonal administration, where he sought to develop a network and resources for the inclusion of physical education into schools. After training in the management of sports organizations, Cédric Blanc took over the executive management of the largest special needs educational institution for minors in the canton of Vaud, which welcomes more than 900 students with disabilities or facing difficulty, and brings together more than 400 collaborators throughout 13 structures.
Being both a teacher and a trainer for adults, his career has enabled him to develop services and mechanisms in the field of special needs pedagogy and training with a real sense for results. Being always interested in helping the most disadvantaged, he has co-authored a book on the benefits of motor activity for people with multiple and severe disabilities (F. Brunet, C. Blanc, A.-C. Margot, 2010, Polyhandicap-handicap sévère : activités motrices et sensorielles, Ed. Bazina). Additionally, through his enthusiasm for specialized publications, he took over the presidency of a foundation in French-speaking Switzerland publishing a professional journal in the field of specialized education pedagogy.
