Sergio Andrés Cabello holds a doctorate in political science and sociology from the University of the Basque Country. He is a professor and researcher at the University of La Rioja. Specializing in the sociology of education, both as a researcher and as a teacher, he also works, among other issues, on questions related to social structure and inequalities, and to social mobility and collective identities. Within the sociology of education, he tackles topics such as inequality in education, cultural diversity in schools, rural schools, the participation of families in education, etc., on which he collaborated on projects and about which he has released numerous publications.
He is the author of more than fifty national and international articles and books. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Texas in San Antonio (USA). He participates in numerous congresses and scientific meetings. He is the vice-president of the Association of Social Sciences and Social Work (AICTS) and a member of the Board of the Sociology of Education Committee of the Spanish Federation of Sociology (FES), Deputy director of the journal EHQUIDAD, a member of the editorial board of RASE, Revue de Sociologie de la Education, as well as on various advisory and scientific boards of scientific journals.
