Profile
Anne-Françoise de Chambrier has worked as a speech therapist for several years. She defended her thesis, which focused on arithmetic strategies used by students with or without difficulties, in 2017, under the supervision of Prof. Pascal Zesiger at the University of Geneva.
Research
Her research work focuses on the learning of oral and written language, numerical and arithmetic skills as well as pedagogical adaptation.
She took part in the “Mathplay” project, a project aimed at promoting young pupils' learning of mathematics through games set up in class and at home. She also contributed to the “ELODI” project, which focused on teaching reading to students with intellectual disabilities.
She is currently working on
- The continuation of the ELODI project, which is aimed at the teaching of reading to students with intellectual disabilities and complex communication needs
- A project aimed at identifying the characteristics of the French orthographic system making decoding more complex
- A project aimed at better understanding the procedures for reading Arabic numbers
- A project aimed at better understanding the collaboration between teachers and speech therapists
- A project to implement a contextualized response to intervention model for literacy and numeracy in infant school
