After studying sociology and comparative social research, Alessandro Bergamaschi, obtained an international doctorate at the University of Turin and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. Currently, he is a lecturer in the sociology of education at the Ecole Supérieure du Professorat et de l’Education, a member of the “Migration and Society” research unit (CNRS IRD) and fellow at the Institut Convergence Migrations – INED Paris. He joined the Institut National du Professorat et de l’Education Nationale in Nice [Higher National Institute of Teaching and Education] where he serves as deputy director in charge of international relations.
His research work focuses on the role of socio-political-cultural factors in the representations of diversity in school, the construction of social relationships among majority and minority adolescents, as well as xenophobia and prejudice.
